Transferring out of the Scheme
You can transfer your pension account to your new employer’s pension scheme or to another personal pension you have.
You can log in via My account to view its current value. If you want to transfer your pension account out of the Scheme, you can then request a transfer pack from the Scheme’s administrator, EQ.
Please note that if you joined the Scheme before 2016, your pension benefits are subject to the Reference Scheme Test. This is the minimum level of benefits that the Scheme must provide. If your pension account provides less than the minimum level, the Scheme will pay a top-up. As a result, the transfer-out process can be more complex and take longer to complete.

Watch out for pension scams
Unfortunately, scammers continue to target pension pots of all sizes so please be vigilant when making decisions about your pension, especially if you’re thinking about transferring out of the Scheme. Scams can happen to anyone, and no pension pot is too small for a scammer.
Common pension scams include ‘early pension release’ or a ‘free pension review’. Make sure you always:
- reject any out-of-the-blue contact about your pension or investments
- check the Financial Conduct Authority’s warning list
- avoid being rushed into a decision
- get impartial advice.
Don’t let a scammer ruin your retirement. The Pensions Regulator provides more information about pension scams and how to avoid them.
